I'm thinking about starting to collect Blu Ray now for my favourite movies as I see a massive improvement in them compared to the DVD. But when I get Blu Ray do I really need a surround speaker sound system to hear the new sound? Could the Tv I have play the full sound from Blu ray? And if I can't get a speaker sound system, is it worth getting Blu Ray at all if I can't hear the full sound?

Blu Ray Player: PS3
HDMI shows 1080p@60hz on screen when using DVDs and PS3 games.
