HELP WITH NO SIGNAL MESSAGE ON RCA BLU RAY CONNECTED TO LG TV?

Everything is hooked up as it should be, it was working, and I fell asleep with it on pandora through the blu ray. I woke in the morning and it had frozen on the pandora screen. I turned everything off and back on, including the blu ray, and when I turned it back on, the TV came on but when I switched the input mode to the blu ray, it just says no signal now. I did not touch any cords or anything other than the wall outlet. The thing is, it doesn't even register to switch the input to blue ray unless it is on, and it is registering the blu ray is on, but it still says no signal? I'm so confused I didn't do anything

the problem lies with your Blu Ray player. Unplug the player again, and keep it unplugged for more than just a simple unplug/plug in. While waiting - reconnect the cables. Now plug the player in and power it on. Hopefully the player will respond. In doing research, I'd found that you are not alone with RCA BR problems of locking up, and there is no real fix. If you need to replace it, lean toward a Samsung.

Make sure that you have the right input selected

You should unplug your bluray player for at least a minute or two before you plug it back in. With your tv on the corresponding HDMI input, turn on your Bluray player. If it powers on but there is no signal. It might be the HDMI cable that is no longer functioning. To test that out without buying a whole new cable, switch the HDMI cable to another HDMI cable if you have one lying around. If the problem consists, the problem lies with your bluray player.

If that's the case, then what probably happened was that your Bluray Player got hit with a surge during the night (Remember, surges happen everyday). Make sure your surge protector is fairly new and not too old. If it is more than a few years old, it is probably no more good than an average power strip. If it is more than 4 years old, replace it otherwise the next BDP you get might be fried again.

If you DO get a new bluray Player, do NOT get a Samsung bluray player. The 2013, as well as the 2012 models that are still selling, have a HIGH return rate and are not very reliable. Lean either towards a Sony, Panasonic, or LG. Panasonics are my personal favorite with LG being my least. Samsung BDP are garbage though. Trust me I deal a lot with them. RCA Bluray players are not very good either way, sorry 😕
