So we have this kinda old dvd player but new enough to have a usb port to play movie files, so I took some movies I had which we're hd/blu ray files and converted them to avi with 720p ntsc size output, everything plays fine on computer but when playing on the dvd player the video seems to lose frames here and there and loses sync with the audio after a while. However pausing and playing fixes the sync issues, where does the problem really lay? is it with the dvd player? the usb or is there something I can do with my conversion settings to fix this frame loss issue?
I agree with that

It could be a variable rate in the sound track or in the Video file itself . When converting use a standard basic rate no variable rates or other fancy tricks in either the sound track or the video...
