How to hook up VCR/DVD to watch on tv with HD box?

So again...Verizon changed their boxes. I have the tiny black HD box. I have a VCR/DVD combo. I was wondering how do you hook up these things up so I can watch the VCR on my tv? There is no VCR/TV component on the new cable box.

Why would you run that through your cable box ?

Just connect it directly to another input on your TV, and when you want to watch something from the VCR/DVD, just switch the TV to that input.

Just connect your VCR directly into you television inputs. There is no reason to use your cable box as a middleman anymore. You used to have to do that back in the day, but that is no longer the case. Just plug in your VCR using the white, red, and yellow cables into the back of your TV. By the way, don't use a DVD player anymore if you have an HDTV, that is pointless. Get a Bluray player for hdtvs. They will play your dvd's as well as Blurays. Just use your VCR/DVD combo for VHS cassettes.
