hello guys
i connected my laptop to a Samsung LED HDTV via HDMI
all I want is the sound to come from the laptop not the tv
If you switch to the VGA connector then all sound will stay with the lap top.

Some programs let you select the audio destination (my blu-ray movie prog.), but others like IE add ons don't

First off there is a difference between an in connection and an out connection...they are not the same nor are they interchangeable.More than likely the HDMI connection on the lap top is an out connection and the HDMI connection on the TV is an in....so the sound and video are going to travel from the PC to the HDTV and not the other way around....probably the easiest way of doing this is to just not allow the sound to travel to the TV from the computer, make sure the settings for the computer are set for the speakers of the computer going through the sound card and not out the HDMI connection....You should be able to figure this out by changing the options under the sound menu while playing something on the computer that has sound....
