Is it Studio Monitor speaker only for Professionals?

I am newbie for buying speakers for long time I am searching for good speakers which I can use form music on laptop but I can also connect with my tv as well to watch movies 

Looked at sound bars, Hifi speakers and finally I like these speakers

It had very good reviews over all, but then I found this statement in the review below

"The Studiophile AV 40 is a hybrid design intended as much for use as a studio recording monitor as it is for desktop use" 


When searched I realise that Studio Monitors are used by professionals and they produce flat sound which is different then other speaker used by general public 

Please advice is this still ok to buy these speakers,
