I want to put a surround sound system in my room but I don't know where to start as I have never dealt with audio/speaker systems before. I want to buy all the components or majority of the components from Goodwill to start out just so I can learn the basics. Any tips and advice would be helpful on where to start and what all I need to purchase. I know I want a 5.1 system. I don't have a DVR box. I use Roku which is similar to Apple TV and just streams things over wifi. I don't know if that effects anything. I am just looking to start a new hobby and want to mess around with this. I am also researching this topic so I can learn the technical language and am not clueless.
