Heat problems with plasma?

I've heard a lot about plasma TVs being heavy and running hot -- both of which worry me. Is this still the case?

While it's true that a plasma set will be both heavier and a larer consumer of power than a comparably sized LCD, there have been tremendous improvements in plasma sets in the past year or so.

There are some cases where the heat they generate might be a factor, but they've improved enough that it should no longer be the deciding factor. They run a bit hotter and suck a bit more juice, but you should really be letting your eyes decide what set to buy.
