Those systems are cheaply made, and do not offer much connectivity, 5.1 sound for any function other than playing a DVD/BluRay and when one part breaks, the whole thing gets tipped into the trash. 4

A *proper* home theater audio/video receiver would be just the receiver, and the speakers and disc player would all be separate items, and bought separately. 1
