Hi I'd really appreciate any input. I have an LG50PQ6000 TV and I'm looking to have surround sound. I have a logotech X-530 surround system but my TV only supports digital optical out and not (jack or RGB) I'm only looking to hook up a couple of speakers, so my question is do I need some sort of converter and lead etc (links or the like would be appreciated) or am I just limited to buying a digital output surround system. Many thanks

The adapter that Chris L listed only works if your HDTV will output STEREO via the optical output. Your HDTV is a 5.1 device so unless the TV Audio setup menu lets you output PCM/LPCM which is code for 'stereo', that converter will not work. (read the customer comments below the listing on the Amazon page).
Computer speakers are designed to work with computer sound cards, not home theater gear.
It wont work.
