Trick with plasma globe messing with digital antenna signal?

Message contains an image

A while back after I had bought my self a plasma globe, I found the light bulb trick with it and decided to try it. While messing around with it, I noticed that when there was a metal metal object on top of the globe, and you brought another metal object very close to it but not touching it, that it would produce a very small electrical spark in between the two objects. At the same time, I noticed it was disrupting our digital antenna signal, completely. As in when I was doing it, it would act like we were not receiving a signal at all. I do find if fun to mess with the family when they're watching tv. 😛
My question is why is this happening, and should I worry about it somehow damaging the antenna?

Note: There is a wall separating the room of the globe and the tv, in case it matters.speakers-photo.jpg
