What do I need to buy for a decent speaker system in my room to play iPod/laptop through?
I have zero experience when it comes to speaker set up. I am wondering what all I would need to get to have a solid speaker system in my room. Nothing outrageous and not looking to spend 1000s of dollars. What are brands I should be avoiding if possible?

If you can spend more, buying a receiver, good pair of bookshelf speakers, and a subwoofer will get you better results. I used to own the Klipsch 2.1 speakers which comes with a subwoofer 1
