Im playing a party at a small club, I dont know there exact set up...I know they have speakers already and i believe they have a dj booth with their own system in it. This would be my first club gig, I called the club and the guy there told me all I would need to hook up to there speakers is a 1/4 inch cable. I dont know what kind of 1/4 inch cable I should get, Im used to using my own speakers, amp, mixer, laptop set up (but will be purchasing the mixtrack pro II shortly also) for house parties so Im not sure of what to do. I dont know if ive provided enough info to go by but I will call the club again tomorrow to check in and get more information if need be...if not a straight up answer from them when I call.
Many headphones come with a 1/8" stereo to 1/4" stereo plug adapter. You might already have one.
You need to find out if the club speakers are ACTIVE (amps built in) or PASSIVE (no amp). Active speakers have a power cord and power switch. If they are active speakers, you will connect the output of your mixer directly to the speakers. If they are passive, you will connect the output of your amp to the speakers.
If you can supply more detail like the make and model of your mixer, amp and the club's speakers, I can help more.
