The white film you are seeing is most likely a fungal disease called powdery mildew. Powdery mildew attacks a wide variety of ornamental plants in North Carolina. The disease usually occurs during spring, fall, and winter months during cool weather with high relative humidity. Young plants with succulent new growth are particularly susceptible to powdery mildew problems
