I have a Lg led tv that has no port to connect 3.5mm jack...so I cant use my home theater which dont have a optical input port..is there any way to connect amy tv with my normal home theater by any converter which convert optical to analogous? ?? Is there will be a difference in quality if I convert so??? Need a advice ASAP plzz help me guyzzz

The answer to this question should really be in a sticky thread because it comes up very regularly....
Anyway, what you need is a converter box to change the digital light signal (optical) in to an analogue electrical signal that you can then connect to a jack socket on your surround kit.

Digital signals can be in various different formats. It's important to check your LG TV manual and see what you need to do to make the signal compatible with the adapter box.

You'll need to set the TV's optical output to "PCM" (A.K....
You'll need to set the TV's optical output to "PCM" (A.K.A. "LPCM"). There should be a menu option for this as it's a fairly basic requirement. If you skip this step then the TV will switch between PCM for some channels and Bitstream for others. When it's on Bitstream you won't get any sound. So do make sure you complete this part as it is an important step in getting things working correctly.
